United States Army Garrison - Carlisle Barracks

The United States Army Garrison - Carlisle Barracks (USAG-CBks) provides integrated base support to the U.S. Army War College and surrounding military community to enhance readiness.

All visitors and un-cleared contractors desiring unescorted access to Carlisle barracks must be vetted through the National Crime Information Center Interstate Identification Index (NCIC-III). NCIC-III is the Army's baseline background check for entrance onto Army installations for Non-Common Access Card (CAC) holders.

Unescorted visitors, who are 18 years or older, coming to Carlisle Barracks, who do not have a Federal government issued identification card will be vetted through the NCIC-III.

Personnel with a CAC card, Military ID, Military Dependent ID, or who is approved for an Installation access pass may proceed to either Installation Gate.

The Online Pre-Registration system is currently down, and the Automated Installation Entry (AIE) system has increased processing times.

Until the system is fully restored, we recommend visitors to Carlisle Barracks either:

Attention Carlisle Barracks Community,

• Submit a paper copy of CBks Form 228 (Installation Access Control Application) in advance.

• Obtain a pass in person at the Visitor Center or Gate.

• Arrive at the Visitor Center or Gate earlier than normal to account for increased processing times.

Important: Anyone who registered online after March 31, 2026, and did not receive an automated approval message will need to re-submit a paper copy of the CBks Form 228 or get a pass in person.

Visitor Procedures:

• Visitors must process through the Visitor Center located at 870 Jim Thorpe Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.

• Hours of Operation: The Visitor Center is open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. For after-hours access, please proceed to the Claremont Gate.

• Required Documents: Visitors must present a valid driver's license or a state-issued photo ID. A second form of ID may be required.

Location: Visitors must process through the Visitor Center located at 870 Jim Thorpe Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
