COL Jeff Lesperance

COL Lesperance was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 1998 following graduation from Washington State University. His first assignment was with 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry, Fort Drum, NY where he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Mortar Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Assistant Battalion Operations Officer from 1999-2002, including a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Following graduation from the Infantry Captains Career Course, COL Lesperance served as a Protocol Action Officer for United States Forces Korea, Yongsan Garrison, Republic of Korea from 2003-2004. He then reported to Fort Campbell, KY where he served as the Company Commander of Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry from 2004-2006 and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. From 2006-2009, COL Lesperance served as the Battalion Operations Officer and later, as the Battalion Executive Officer of 1st Battalion, 314th Infantry at Fort Drum, NY. In 2009, he deployed to Iraq as a Border Transition Team Chief in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Upon graduation from the Command and General Staff College in 2011, COL Lesperance served as the Battalion Executive Officer of 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, including a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He then served as the Operations Officer for the 3rd Battlefield Coordination Detachment, Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea from 2013-2014. Following his assignment to the Republic of Korea, COL Lesperance served as the Chief of Operations, Operations Group Bravo, Mission Command Training Program, Fort Leavenworth, KS from 2014-2016.
COL Lesperance commanded 1st Battalion, 307th Infantry, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ from 2016-2018. Following battalion command, COL Lesperance served as an Instructor at the Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL from 2018-2020. He graduated from the Air War College in 2021.
COL Lesperance commanded the Raven Rock Mountain Complex from 2021-2024.
COL Lesperance holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from the Air War College and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Washington State University. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Parachutist Badge, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge and the Ranger Tab.
COL Lesperance is married to the former Ms. Elizabeth Monthei from Jefferson, IA. They have two daughters, Makayla (13) and Cora (9).
