Dr. Edward A Kaplan

Edward A. Kaplan is Dean of the School of Strategic Landpower at the U.S. Army War College. In this role, he is responsible for facilitating the education of senior officers in the Army, other services, partner nations, and senior civilians.

Dr. Kaplan is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and served 26 years as an intelligence officer, retiring at the rank of Colonel. His assignments included Executive Officer for the Director for Intelligence on the Joint Staff, Senior Editor for the Daily Intelligence Briefing for the Secretary of Defense, and Professor and Head of the History Department, USAF Academy, Colorado. Dr. Kaplan received his Doctorate in History from the University of Calgary in 2007. Dr. Kaplan specializes in the study of nuclear history and strategy. He is the author of To Kill Nations and The End of Victory
