CW5 Stephen Napoli has been in the Army for over 30 years. He knew from a young age that he would serve in the military. He joined the Army as an Enlisted Aeroscout Observer in 1993. In 1995, during his first active-duty assignment at Camp Page, Korea, he was notified that he had been selected to attend Warrant Officer Candidate School. He graduated from the U.S. Army Flight School in 1997, and soon afterwards began his career as an Attack Helicopter aviator.
His stateside assignments include Fort Cavazos, Texas; Fort Novosel, Alabama; Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and Fort Irwin, California. CW5 Napoli’s overseas assignments include two years in Kuwait as an Instructor Pilot with the Kuwait Air Force; two tours in Korea; three deployments to Afghanistan; and a rotation to Europe.
He is a Standardization Instructor Pilot, Instrument Flight Examiner, and Aviation Master Gunner. CW5 Napoli is rated in the OH-58A/C, AH-64A, AH-64D, and AH-64E. He is a graduate of Enterprise High School, Enterprise, Alabama and Troy University, Troy, Alabama – with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He has a master’s degree in Aerospace Science and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Strategic Leadership. In addition, he holds a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do.
CW5 Napoli is a former Command Chief Warrant Officer for the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade at Fort Cavazos. He currently serves as the Deputy Commandant at the Warrant Officer Career College. He is married to the former Rachel Goad of DeSoto, Texas. They have two daughters: Hannah (15) and Elizabeth (13), and a German Shepherd named “Liberty.”
His awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Medal with numeral device “2”, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal with one Service Star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with three Service Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon with numerical device “6”, NATO Medal with one Service Star, Combat Action Badge, Master Army Aviator Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Norwegian Road March Badge.
